FDR couldn't run afoul of southern democrats in pursuing a liberal agenda. LBJ's Great Society was, in part, torn apart by racial conflict. Not much has changed even with the election of black president. I, too, haven't thoroughly read their conclusions but the media reports about the findings left me feeling very skeptical. </p>
